5 Ways to Bring the Team Together in Niagara Falls USA
There’s nothing like exploring a natural wonder to bring the team together. While you’re in town for your meeting or event, be sure to put one (or all!) of these team-building activities on the agenda!
1. Get the full Falls experience.
You and your teammates will have plenty of time to gawk at the beauty of the Falls from above — after all, in a destination as walkable as Niagara Falls, it’s hard to miss! But make sure you make time to delve deeper into the team building experience. The first option is to board the historic Maid of the Mist, where you and your colleagues will don blue ponchos and sail near the base of American Falls and into the basin which the Horseshoe Falls tumble into. If you’re feeling more adventurous, the Cave of the Winds tour — which also requires a poncho — takes you over a series of decks, leading ultimately to the aptly named “Hurricane Deck” at the base of Bridal Veil Falls.
2. Cruise the rapids.
The team that seeks thrills together, stays together, right? There’s no better way to test this theory than by cruising on a jet boat over the Class V rapids found in the mighty Niagara Gorge. You’ve got options for this outdoor team building experience: an enclosed boat, which will keep you dry, or an open-air boat, which ups the sensory experience. Both come with plenty of white-knuckled shrieks, we assure you.
3. Make your escape.
You rely on each other to accomplish goals and meet deadlines, but have you relied on each other to, say, escape from Al Capone’s speakeasy or a remote CIA field location? That’s exactly what you’ll have to do at The Panic Room and Mindgames Niagara: two escape-room purveyors offering up plenty of tricks, puzzles and more fun team building activities that require teams to put their heads together.
4. Play “Top Chef.”
At the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, your team can learn a new skill — how to get a perfect sear on salmon, how to make fresh pasta, how to make homemade tortillas — or even get competitive with a few mystery ingredients and a healthy imagination. Bonus: Ask the NFCI crew to add on an open bar or a private dinner in the onsite restaurant.
5. Hit the trails.
The countryside surrounding Niagara Falls is crisscrossed with great hiking trails, and some of the best begin right in the city proper. The Niagara Gorge Trail System offers easy (Great Gorge Scenic Overlook) and more moderate trails. A picnic lunch would be the perfect way to round out your team-building outing!
