1. Lewiston GardenFest
June 15-16, 2024
Every June, the nearby town of Lewiston becomes a hub for gardeners as this two-day event sets up shop in the historic town center. Now in its 96th year, Garden Fest features garden tours, advice from Master Gardeners, a container garden contest and fun activities for the whole family.
2. Lockport in Bloom
July 12-14, 2024
Tour some of the best home gardens in Western New York at this free event. A celebration of Lockport’s gardening community, guests are invited to explore a selection of private yards as well as public parks throughout the city.
3. Kin Loch Farmstead
June through August
Nestled among the Niagara wine region wineries, Kin Loch Farmstead’s location was chosen specifically for its sandy soil, perfect for growing French and English lavender. Come summer, the purple fields beckon with their signature scent and visitors are invited to harvest their own lavender. Tickets are required, so be sure to check their website for more information.
4. Sunflowers of Sanborn
August and September
This sunflower field stretching over 8 acres in quaint Sanborn has over 100,000 sunflowers of 18 different varieties! With U-pick opportunities, family-friendly activities, a corn maze, concessions and more, a trip to this gem will delight the entire family.
5. Kenan Center
Open daily
Nature lovers can peruse the grounds of the Kenan Center in Lockport, dotted with century-old trees , an old stone pond, a fragrant herb garden, and lush perennials. Families will delight in Daisy’s Adventure Garden, a new addition to the Kenan Center, which features a storytelling amphitheater, a play structure, slide and a sound garden with harmony flowers and a xylophone tree.
6. Lockport Flower Mural

While these wallflowers may not offer any fragrance, they do provide for a perfect photo backdrop. Painted by artists Cass Womack and Courtney Haeick, this mural of purple and pink flowers can be found near Lake Effect Ice Cream.
