So long, winter blues! With warmer temperatures on the horizon, there’s no better time to soak in the change of seasons and opt outdoors. April 19: Changing Seasons
Whirlpool State Park, Niagara Scenic Parkway, Niagara Falls
1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Join us for a short hike as we watch winter melt away and search for signs of spring!
April 21: Beginner Bird Walk
Niagara Falls State Park, 332 Prospect St., Niagara Falls
9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Join a park naturalist on a beginner friendly guided walk to learn the basics of birding, binoculars will be provided but attendees are welcome to bring their own as well!
April 22: Stargazing Under the Lyrids
Golden Hill State Park, 9691 Lower Lake Road, Barker
8:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Join a park naturalist under stars as we explore the peak of the Lyrid Meteor shower and other constellations in our night sky. Curious beginners and warm clothing encouraged.
April 26: Woofs and Waterfalls
Niagara Falls State Park, 332 Prospect St., Niagara Falls
10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Enjoy a leisurely walk with your dog and a park naturalist around Goat Island. It is not necessary to have a dog to participate, however, all dogs in attendance must be up-to-date on immunizations, leashed and under control.
April 26: Trees in Bloom
Niagara Falls State Park, 332 Prospect St., Niagara Falls
1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Enjoy a presentation on how to identify some key species in spring through flowers, buds, leaf scars and seeds. Then talk a walk to see these species out in the park.
April 27: Invasive Species
Niagara Falls State Park, 332 Prospect St., Niagara Falls
1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. An introduction to invasive species found in Western New York from terrestrial to aquatic and learn about the identification and history of our most commonly found invasive species.
May 9: Wildflowers and Watercolors
Wilson-Tuscarora State Park, 3371 Lake Road, Wilson
3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Go for a walk searching for spring ephemerals before coming back to create a watercolor painting of the flowers you saw!
May 16: Flowers, Bugs, and Birds, Oh My!
Joseph Davis State Park, 4143 Lower River Road, Lewiston
3:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Join us as we traverse the trails in Joseph Davis State Park in search of things that pique our interest! Flowers, insects and birds galore – we won't be short anything to explore!
May 17: A Stroll in DeVeaux Woods

10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. A stroll through DeVeaux Woods – noticing nature and learning a bit of history about DeVeaux.
