Dog-Friendly Niagara Falls USA
With so much beauty to behold in Niagara Falls USA, it’s always fun to soak in the views with a friend–including those furry, four-legged friends.
From pet-friendly hotels to ample parks for playtime and even signature drinks, your pooch will not only get spoiled here, but also need a nap after a day of adventures. Whether you’re planning a getaway or spending the day, explore these dog-friendly spots in Niagara Falls USA.
Niagara Falls State Park
With over 400 acres ready to be explored, dogs (and household pets) are permitted along the green space and footpaths at Niagara Falls State Park. All pets must on a leash and be up-to-date on their rabies vaccinations. Pets are not permitted inside attractions and/or buildings at Niagara Falls State Park; pet travel exceptions are for certified service animals only. And when you or your canine companion need a break, there are plenty of benches available. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle to share!
Niagara Gorge Trail System
If your pup is up for a more strenuous, lengthy walk, the Niagara Gorge Trail System offers eight trails, all varying in degree of difficulty. While some of the upper trails are well-developed footways, those in the Gorge are more rugged and call for extra caution. And while the views at the bottom of the Gorge are picturesque, don’t be surprised if your pooch needs a lift. We suggest packing a book bag with a water bottle and snacks.
Lewiston Dog Park
Situated in the quaint village of Lewiston, the Lewiston Dog Park is the ideal spot for your pup to run, play and meet fellow dogs. There are two separate fenced-in areas, labeled appropriately for small (under 30 lbs.) and large dogs (over 30 lbs.). There is plenty of grassland and a small agility course including a dog walk ramp and tunnel.
DeVeaux Woods State Park
Located at DeVeaux Woods State Park, this new dog park is a first for Niagara Falls, NY. The park is freely accessible by any dog, but there are also private tracks along the outer edge for dogs who may not play well with others or dogs that just need to run laps. The park is also double-gated for safety. Dog park amenities include benches, drinking fountains and pet waste disposal stations; the nearby comfort station offers restrooms.
Steamworks Coffee Roasters
Nothing is better than enjoying a cup of coffee with your best friend. Lockport’s newest coffee shop roasts their beans in small batches, creating some robust flavors. In addition to coffee, Steamworks also offers sweet treats including gluten-free and vegan baked goods. So while you’re sipping a pour-over coffee, treat your fur baby to a puppuccino, a cup of fluffy non-dairy whipped topping garnished with a crunchy biscuit.
Petey's Treats
Petey's Treats in Youngstown prides itself on having desserts for your whole family, pups included! Perry's ice cream, soft serve and fresh baked cookies make for the perfect sweet treat for you, while your dog can enjoy natural, homemade dog treats and delicious pup cups. A delicious ending to a day of exploring Niagara Falls USA!
