Cozy Up at These Local Coffee Shops
Need a boost before venturing out and about around Niagara County? Here’s where to head for your morning brew.
Whether you need a steaming latte in the depths of winter or a chilled iced coffee in the middle of summer, Niagara Falls USA offers great local coffee shops to keep you buzzing along. Add in baked goods, full food menus and cozy corners to relax into, and you’ll never want to leave these sit-and-stay-awhile spots.
IN NIAGARA FALLS:
Power City Eatery: What do you get when you cross a classic Long Island deli with a local coffee house? Power City Eatery, where you can come in for a house-roast coffee and an authentic NYC bagel and schmear — and leave with a pound of the finest cold cuts. Add in an extensive sandwich program for lunch, and you’re about to feel like a real New Yorker.
Spot Coffee: Conveniently located outside of Niagara Falls State Park, this intimate cafe specializes in high-quality coffee, light signature meals, gourmet pizza, and decadent desserts. Dine on the outdoor patio, or take your items to-go and sit next to the roaring rapids. (Or if you’re in North Tonawanda, visit Spot Coffee on Webster Street!)
Amy & Co. Cafe: Their slogan says it all, Sip Happens Here! Located on Buffalo Avenue in Niagara Falls, this cozy cafe serves coffee from a local roaster, New Day Coffee — and offers a variety of grab-and-go treats including creative scones, muffins, breakfast sandwiches and salads.
IN LEWISTON:
Orange Cat Coffee Co.: This Lewiston coffee house is quite literally a house, with a charming garden out front. And it’s a mecca for those who love flavored coffee, with colorfully named drinks like the Smelly Nelly and the Screaming Monkey. Pair them with a fan-favorite muffin for breakfast or an afternoon pick-me-up — all vegan-friendly too!
The Village Bake Shoppe: We all know that sometimes a cup of coffee is just a cover for the delicious treat you’re ordering with it. That’s where the Village Bake Shoppe comes in, with scratch-made desserts from cupcakes to cookies to bars to the highly-popular hot chocolate bombs. At breakfast time, you’ll find a variety of freshly baked scones, muffins and swirl buns to choose from to accompany your cup of joe.
IN LOCKPORT:
Craft Coffee House: Offering indoor and outdoor seating, this Lockport coffee shop serves more than just drinks. In fact, their entire menu is available daily from open to close, and offers a diverse selection of fresh and homemade options. A few of our favorites: the breakfast sandwich, the veggie wrap, and the latte flights — choose from traditional or seasonal flavors.
Scripts Cafe: To call Scripts Cafe in Lockport a coffee house is to underplay the level of food-menu offerings. While they do have baked goods to pair with their excellent coffee, you can also make your own sandwich or choose from lighter fare like quinoa bowls. It’s a perfect lunch spot for when you need a good meal and good coffee — or even a spot to linger the day away.
Steamworks Coffee Roasters: This local roastery not only roasts their own small-batch beans, but they make the some of the best cold brew in the area. Add on a truly tempting array of baked goods — those cinnamon rolls will leave you swooning — and you’ve got an ideal spot for almost any time of the day.
IN WILSON:
Wilson Brew Co.: A must-stop in Wilson for artfully made espresso drinks from caramel macchiatos with homemade whipped cream to iced chai lattes. This family-run business serves locally roasted coffee, house-made baked goods (the scones are beloved!) and bagel sandwiches for breakfast. Make yourself at home in the warm, industrial-chic space.
