After Dark: 6 Fun Things to do in Niagara Falls USA at Night
When the sun goes down, it’s time to visit the many Niagara Falls USA night time attractions. In fact, even the Falls come alive, awash in colorful lighting. Get ready, it’s going to be a late night!
1. Be wowed by the illuminations.
If you think the Falls put on a show by day, wait until you see Niagara Falls at night. Niagara Falls’ nightly illuminations transform the water wonder into a kaleidoscopic cascade of color — 365 nights a year. Talk about photogenic: From the Horseshoe Falls in frozen ice-white to the American Falls in red, white and blue, your perfect social media shot awaits you! Out late? Enjoy the Niagara Falls night lights until 2 a.m.
2. Experience Niagara’s casino royale.
If you’ve already seen the night views and you’re still wondering what to do in Niagara Falls after dark, it’s time to head over to Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino. This Vegas-vibed, Seneca Nation-inspired colossus is gilded by ornate features, animal iconography and a confetti of lights. There’s a candy shop of gaming options too: 95 poker tables and 3,100 slot machines to try your hand at, whether you’ve set a $25 limit for yourself or are going for gold.
3. Dine out, whatever your style.
The Niagara Falls USA region is kissed by some of America’s most fertile farmland, so it’s little wonder the dining scene offers such a gorgeous smorgasbord of flavors. For a night out with romance, razzmatazz or a little edge, the region offers foodie finds for every appetite and ambiance. Want a peek at the menu? How about haute cuisine like plum roasted pork loin at the Red Coach Inn, jumbo day boat scallops from the Seneca’s Western Door or burgers so legendary they’re trademarked at the Hard Rock Cafe?
4. Go front row with some of music’s biggest stars.
Set high atop the Niagara River Gorge, a magnificent celebration of the arts happens every summer at Artpark. With an array concerts scheduled at the outdoor amphitheater, the views are just as magnificent as the performances. Year-round, check out the lineup of Broadway musicals at Lockport’s Historic Palace Theatre, or take in a play or tribute-act show at Riviera Theatre & Performing Arts Center in North Tonawanda.
Niagara County may be known for its wines, but beer lovers will find plenty of local craft brews to sample — and plenty of delicious snacks to nibble on at the brewery. Head to New York Beer Project in Lockport for standbys and seasonals with a side of beef-on-weck sliders, wings and beer-cheese mac and cheese. In Wilson, or North Tonawanda, don’t miss Woodcock Bros Brewing Company, serving solid brews and solid pub fare: think spent grain pretzels and wood-fired pizzas.
6. Make it a classic date night.
Niagara Falls isn’t the only blockbuster in town. Regal Niagara Falls, the area’s main multiplex, shows all the latest Hollywood releases. What better backdrop than Niagara Falls to get you in the mood for an adrenaline-rushing thriller or a sweet rom-com? Last showings start around 9:30 p.m., offering plenty of time for a cozy dinner beforehand. Another option: in the summertime, enjoy a show under the stars at the Transit Drive-In Theatre in Lockport.
