Niagara Falls USA Arts and Culture Itinerary

As stunning as the natural beauty in Niagara Falls is, there’s even more to discover inside museums, galleries, and at public art spaces. Don’t forget musical sensations and theater to round out your days.

DAY ONE

Stroll through Art Alley NF, a public mural project located minutes from Niagara Falls State Park. The innovative space features the work of talented local artists who turned the city itself into a canvas with over a dozen murals.

Take a spin on an original Alan Herschell carrousel at the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum in North Tonawanda. Ride antique carrousels and kiddie rides, immerse yourself in historic exhibitions and galleries, and witness wood-carving demonstrations.

Home to an original “Mighty Wurlitzer” organ, the Riviera Theatre is a 1,100-seat historic venue that hosts music acts, plays, movies, and variety shows — and, of course, Wurlitzer organ concerts.

Explore ART247, a rich and diverse arts center overlooking the Erie Canal in Lockport, that houses galleries, art classes, studios, and a gift shop. With a constantly rotating gallery schedule, there’s always something new to see!

DAY TWO

Start the morning at the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center, exploring its rotating art galleries, permanent Underground Railroad exhibit, and more. The building offers three theatres, galleries, a café, and gift shop.

Dive into Niagara’s past on a tour of Oakwood Cemetery of Niagara Falls, established in 1852. This 20-acre site pays homage to many notorious Niagara Falls legends, including daredevil Annie Edson Taylor, the first person to survive a trip over the Falls in a barrel!

Browse more than 5,000 artworks within the stunning marbled walls of the Castellani Art Museum. Wander its galleries and uncover everything from historic folk to contemporary pieces. Plus, view grand works from the likes of Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Salvador Dalí.

Visit Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, a haven for reflection and prayer, featuring 15 acres of gardens, over 100 life-sized statues, a pond, and a heart-shaped Rosary Pool for reflection. Climb to the top of the awe-inspiring Dome Basilica for a bird's-eye view of this peaceful sanctuary.

Finally, head to Artpark for interactive art installations, live performances, and hiking trails across its 150 acres.
